DDR Relic — Uniform & Identity (triptych) (2014, Arnhem, The Netherlands)
“DDR Relic” examines the afterimage of authority through the lens of personal identity. The triptych juxtaposes a relic of totalitarian power — the East German officer’s uniform — with the vulnerability of the nude body. Stripped of its institutional meaning, the uniform becomes a costume of contradictions: discipline meets desire, gender meets performance, control meets exposure. The work questions the residue of ideology and the ways the body reclaims its narrative.
